RTP and house edge
RTP — return to player
RTP is a theoretical long-run percentage calculated under a stated rule set. It does not promise that one player or one session will receive that percentage back. A disclosed 96% RTP and a 4% house edge are mathematical complements only when they describe the same rules and basis.
House edge
House edge is the operator's theoretical long-run advantage under the stated rules. Different rule sets, paytables and optional bets can produce different figures, so a generic number should not be applied to a specific game without checking its rules.

Volatility and variance
Volatility or variance describes how widely short-run results may be distributed around a long-run average. A higher-volatility game may concentrate more of its theoretical return in less frequent outcomes, but the label does not predict when an outcome will occur. Providers may use labels differently, so check the current paytable and help screen.
Paytable, paylines and symbols
A paytable states winning combinations, payouts, feature triggers and other game rules. A payline defines a pattern on which symbols must land; some games instead use adjacent-reel or cluster rules. A wild may substitute for specified symbols, while a scatter may pay or trigger a feature under conditions stated in the paytable. None of these terms guarantees identical behaviour in every game.

Wagering requirement
A wagering requirement states how much eligible play must be completed before bonus-related funds can become withdrawable, subject to all other terms. Check whether the multiplier applies to the bonus, the deposit, or both; which games contribute; the time limit; maximum stake conditions; and withdrawal restrictions.
Welcome or no-deposit bonus
